Nike joins Fortune 100, 2 other Oregon companies make Fortune 500

Fortune magazine on Monday released its annual list of the biggest U.S. public companies.

And, after a record year, the sportswear giant Nike Inc. cracked the top 100 for the first time, ranking No. 91.

Its revenue climbed 10.1 percent in its most recent fiscal year to $30.6 billion. The sportswear giant has steadily climbed the Fortune 500 list on the back of a string of popular products and growing demand for athletic apparel.

The Washington County-based company is one three Oregon companies on the Fortune 500 list.

Portland-based Precision Castparts Corp. ranked No. 282 with $10.1 billion in 2015 revenue. The company was sold last year Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway for $37 billion, meaning it won't appear on the list next year. It remains based here, but is no longer a public company.

Medford-based Lithia Motors Inc. ranked No. 346, its second year on the list.

Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart ranked No. 1 with $482.1 billion in 2015 revenue.
