Promotion for Trail Blazer’s Chris Oxley

September 29,2016 | By Cara Rene, VP of Stakeholder Relations
Congratulations to Portland Trail Blazers’ Chris Oxley for his promotion to Senior Vice President of Venue Operations, overseeing Rip City management, IT, ticket operations, business development, and government affairs. Previously the organization’s Vice President and General Manager of Rose Quarter operations, Oxley managed a significant renovation of the Trail Blazers practice facility and oversaw a $16 million capital campaign that infused the Rose Quarter with critical new entertainment infrastructure. An established leader in sustainable venue operations, he also led the charge for the Moda Center to be the first professional sports venue to achieve LEED Gold Certification for an existing building.

Chris and his team are busily working on PK80, the Phil Knight Invitational, which will be played at Portland's Moda Center and Memorial Coliseum on Nov. 23-26, 2017 to honor Nike co-founder Phil Knight for his 80th birthday.

The event features nine of the past 13 NCAA champions. Participating teams include Arkansas, Butler, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas.
