Higher Education Task Force

May 31,2016 | By Cara Rene, VP of Stakeholder Relations
The GPI Higher Education Task Force is at work determining the most desired and marketable assets within our region’s colleges and universities to align with industry needs and job growth potential.
The task force launched earlier this year with representatives from Clark College (Bob Knight, President), OHSU (Dan Dorsa, Senior Vice President for Research), OSU (Brian Wall, Assistant Vice President for Research, Commercialization and Industry Partnerships), PSU (Erin Flynn, Associate VP Strategic Partnerships) and WSUV (Christine Portfors, Associate Vice Chancellor of Research and Graduate Education).
Individually, the task force participants are drilling down into the research and innovation assets, training programs, and workforce development opportunities within their institutions to provide a clear look at the primary assets marketable to target industries.
Collectively, those assets and opportunities will shape a marketing strategy to provide connectivety between industry and prospective companies looking to relocate or expand to the region and the aggregated strength of our numerous entities that can address a multitude of research and workforce needs.
GPI is also reaching out to additional higher education entities to encourage their participation.
